The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) made a major announcement at Tuesday’s NAFTZ Legislative and Regulatory Seminar.
APHIS intends to phase out the long-standing exemption from the declaration requirement for reporting Lacey Act information on Type 06 entries from foreign-trade zones (FTZs).
On Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that the February 28th deadline for the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) has been dropped in favor of a phased compliance schedule.
Originally CBP planned to shut down the Automated Commercial System (ACS) on February 28th. However, the new timeline allows importers to continue filing all electronic entries and associated entry summaries in either ACS or ACE for a majority of entry types and some PGAs.
