Nuevo Esquema de Empresas Certificadas, or NEEC, is the supply chain security program in Mexico. Much like its predecessor, Empresa Certificada, NEEC certification allows companies to move goods in and out of Mexico faster and with less paperwork. However, NEEC is a more security focused program, and has been built based on both the SAFE Framework from the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT).


Companies that wish to obtain NEEC certification and reap the benefits associated must first complete the application process. Applying for NEEC certification is more than just filling out the necessary paperwork. The application process entails completing fiscal, security and customs requirements. This application process can be somewhat time-consuming, requiring constant monitoring of the supply chain to determine secure aspects and areas of risk that need to be addressed.

What is Nuevo Esquema De Empresas (NEEC)?

Mexico’s trusted trader/shipper program, Nuevo Esquema De Empresas Certificadas (NEEC) was launched December 15th, 2011 by the Servicio de Administration Tributaria (SAT) as part of a Mexican Government initiative to create tools that secure and facilitate the crossing of goods at the border and promote economic well being.
